Major Airports and Transfer to Swansea

Students who travel to City School of Languages usually arrive by air via the following airports:

Bristol and London Stansted are well served by low cost operators like Ryanair and EasyJet with international flights from many international airports.

City School of Languages can arrange airport transfers for our students but because of the good connections by public transport (train and coach), most students travel to the school independently.

London Heathrow Airport

By train

From London Heathrow we recommend you take the Heathrow Express direct to London Paddington rail station. The journey takes just 15 minutes. You can buy and print your ticket in advance from the Heathrow Express website or buy it at the airport.

The Heathrow Express stops at Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5. If your flight arrives at or leaves from Terminal 4, take the free Heathrow Connect rail shuttle to Terminals 1, 2 and 3. This free service runs every 15 minutes and the journey takes three minutes.

At Paddington, you can catch a direct train to Swansea. More information about trains from London Paddington to Swansea can be found in our Public Transport General Information section. 

By coach
National Express operates a direct coach service from London Heathrow to Swansea. You must book your seat in advance and you can do this on the National Express website. Remember to print your e-ticket as you must have a valid ticket before you can get on a National Express coach.

London Gatwick Airport

By train
From London Gatwick we recommend you take the Gatwick Express direct to LondonVictoria rail station. The journey takes 30 minutes (35 minutes on Sundays) andtrains leave every 15 minutes. You can buy and print your ticket in advance from the Gatwick Express Service or buy it at the airport.

From London Victoria take the underground to London Paddington. Take the Circle Line (yellow) direct to London Paddington. Alternatively take the Victoria Line (light blue) to Oxford Circus and then the Bakerloo line (brown) from Oxford Circus to London Paddington.

By coach
National Express operates a direct coach service from London Gatwick to Swansea. You must book your seat in advance and you can do this on the National Express website. Remember to print your e-ticket as you must have a valid ticket before you can get on a National Express coach

London Stansted Airport

By train
From London Stansted we recommend you take the Stansted Express direct to London Liverpool Street rail station. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes and trains leave every 15 minutes. You can buy your ticket at the station or in advance from the Stansted Express website. If you buy your ticket online, you can collect it at the station using one of the credit card machines. You must use the same credit card which you used to purchase the ticket online to collect your ticket from the machines.

From London Liverpool Street take the underground to London Paddington. Take the Circle Line (yellow) direct to London Paddington. Alternatively take the Central Line (red) to Oxford Circus and then the Bakerloo line (brown) from Oxford Circus to London Paddington.

By coach
National Express operates a coach service from Stansted Airport but you have to change coach at Heathrow. You must book your seat in advance and you can do this on the National Express website. Remember to print your e-ticket as you must have a valid ticket before you can get on a National Express coach

Bristol International Airport

By train
From Bristol International Airport take the Bristol International Flyer bus to Bristol Temple Meads railway station. You can buy a ticket online, at the airport from the Fast Ticket machine located in the main concourse or on the bus.

From Bristol Temple Meads station there are trains to Swansea but you must change train in Newport.


By coach
National Express operates a coach service from Bristol Airport but you have tochange coach at Bristol. You must book your seat in advance and you can do this on the National Express website. Remember to print your e-ticket as you must have a valid ticket before you can get on a National Express coach
