Entry Dates, Terms and the Academic Year at CSL
Entry Dates, Terms and the Academic Year at CSL
You can begin your course at City School of English on any Monday and you should stay for a minimum of two weeks. If you are a beginner (A1 on the CEFR), we recommend you start your course at the beginning of a new term.
CSL divides the year into four terms: Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. Each term lasts 12 or 13 weeks. At the end of each term we have an end of course test and if you pass this test, you will be promoted to the next English level.
Our term dates for 2010 are as follows:
Winter 4th January - 26th March
Spring 29th March - 25th June
Summer 28th June - 24th September
Autumn 27th September - 17th December
Beginners (A1)
If you are a beginner, we recommend you begin your course on one of our term start dates:
Winter 4th January
Spring 29th March
Summer 28th June
Autumn 27th September
Please contact us if you want to start on a different date.
Please note that you if you require a visa to enter the UK and you are a beginner or your English level is below Elementary (A2 level on the CEFR), you must apply for a student visitor visa. This visa lasts a maximum of six months and there is no entitlement to work. You cannot apply for Tier 4 sponsorship if you are a beginner or your level is not high enough for you to join an Elementary (A2) group.
If you want to spend more than six months studying in the UK and you are a beginner, we recommend that you study English in your own country and reach a good A1 level before you apply to CSL for Tier 4 sponsorship. For more information, please contact us
